Creation Of Woman

I don't know where I got this from but it was in my collection of odds and ends. It is the recipe of a Hindu god who created woman and it goes like this:

“Take the lightness of the leaf, the glance of the fawn, the gaiety of the sun’s rays and the tears of the mist; the inconstancy of the wind and the timidity of the hare; the vanity of the peacock and the softness of the down on its throat. Add the harshness of the diamond, the sweet flavour of honey, the cruelty of a tiger, the warmth of fire and the chill of snow; the chatter of the jay and the cooing of the turtle dove. Melt and mingle these ingredients and woman is the result.”

Everybody, Somebody, Anybody & Nobody

There is a story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody & Nobody. There was an important job to be done and everybody was sure somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but nobody did it. Now, when somebody got angry about that because it was everybody's job, everybody thought that anybody could do it, but nobody realized that everybody would not do it. It ended up that everybody blamed somebody when nobody did what anybody could have done.

The Phantom Of The Opera

Had the occasion to see the film "The Phantom Of The Opera" on PIX television. It was good but it was not as good as the stage version I saw in Las Vegas the September before last. The stage version was, in tune with the title of the play, more mysterious and spellbinding. I doubt if I would have felt the same feelings that I had on seeing the stage version, even if I'd seen it on the silver screen.

The stage management was, of course, nothing short of spectacular.

This is my daughter's dog. His name is Rascal N. Daniel. How's that for a name?
